PLANETS
Planets typically revolve around a star (like the Sun in our Solar System). They do not produce their own light but reflect the light of their star.
Planets are spherical or nearly spherical due to their own gravitational pull.
Planets are categorized into two main types:
• Terrestrial planets: Rocky planets like Earth, Mars, Venus, and Mercury.
• Gas giants or ice giants: Larger planets mostly made of gases, like Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus, and Neptune.
